Jeffrey W. Rescigno
Biography Jeff is an Oceanport Resident and Atlantic Cape Community College, Academy of Culinary Arts graduate, first fell in love with the kitchen as a child. Living in a home with three older brothers and a sister, made you want, or need, to fend for yourself. Often in the kitchen, Jeff fell in the love with this creative art as many do, watching his parents and family cooking. The varied experience that he has had “enriched my soul and shaped my skills”.
Jeff has worked in Atlantic City at such iconic places as the Convention Center and the historical Knife and Fork Inn. He spent many years in the Southern part of NJ at The Grapevine Restaurant, Primas in Smithville, Mystic Islands Casino, and in Cape May opening Daniel’s on Broadway. Living in Arizona for 15 years was great exposure to the well known restaurants of Sedona and Scottsdale. While there, Jeff was Executive Chef at a few restaurants, Territory Manager for US Food Service, and was a private chef for many on vacation, such as Kurt Warner of the AZ Cardinals. Today, Jeff is back home, living in Oceanport. He has continued his path as a Territory Manager/Food Sales. What he loves the most is being able to assist people create their restaurants, the menus and training assistance. He loves food and the opportunity to help in any way. If you recognize the name, you may also now be aware of his daughter, Chef Britt Rescigno, who has taken Food Network by storm. The two of them love to collaborate together!
Jeff loves people and always makes it a mission to serve! Catering has always been another hat that he wears. In AZ, he would volunteer to provide meals for NAOMI House (Native American Outreach Ministries), oftentimes along with bringing food and cooking, he would be found teaching the kids how to cook or throw a football! (His favorite “job” of all time was being a football coach) The Cactus Pine Council of Arizona Girl Scouts and also the Boy Scouts of Sedona have loved bragging that their event cook was a Chef! Today, in NJ, he enjoys assisting the Long Branch Elks with their fund raisers, events and celebrations.
Residing in Oceanport, he lives with his wife, Brenda, son, Chas, and his brother, John in their childhood home. He has 3 children, loves the outdoors, sports , especially the Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers. He loves the Southwest and misses the outdoor life in Sedona, Arizona. For Jeff, it’s not a job, a career or a desire. Being a Chef is in your heart, blood and soul.
